Email Marketing Customer: SplashDirect.com
After a major overhaul of their ecommerce website Splash Direct wanted a way to stimulate additional interest and awareness and therefore decided to launch an emarketing campaign promoting some fantastic offers for Christmas. Using data from their existing client database, the Email Junkies service was selected to broadcast out over 5000 emails who had opted in to their newsletter service.
Emarketing Brief
The first task for Email Junkies was to come up with a visually compelling design for the email newsletter. For an emarketing campaign to be successful the email has to stand out from the crowd; in the case, in the user's inbox.
Within the design Email Junkies ensured that each of the product offers were linked directly to an appropriate landing page on the website thereby making it extremely relevant by taking the user to the correct place without having to let them hunt around for the offer they were expecting to see.
Benefits of Emarketing
Using the advanced email reporting Splash Direct learnt many things about their customers and their own data. Firstly they were able to sanity check and cleanse their email list. In a small number of cases some emails were no longer valid so were therefore rejected/bounced. Splash are now able to update their mailing list and remove this old "dead" data.
For the majority of recipients who received and opened it Splash were able to track who had placed an order and the time to order. Some users ordered shortly after receiving the email, other chose to return back at a later date and then subsequently ordered.
By being able to see who opened the emails and in particular who clicked which offer link, Splash gained valuable knowledge about their customers and their interest in particular product ranges. This valuable information will now allow Spash to segment their customers in further email campaigns so that users are targeted with offers that are more relevant to them; that's more intelligence giving rise to more conversions.
